Kevin Zapata Reflection
The symposium was truly a new experience for me and my group members as it made us find things that we didn't know about and also project these findings to people who might care about the topic at hand. The same could be said to the other groups of our same class where to go and find research and on their topics and make a big presentation for a selection of people present. The SNAP Program was my groups topic and realistically you learn a lot about how people need this and the ways that it helps them. The essential of food has become very clear we doing research about this due to the fact that we learn who are the benefactors of this program and the ways it contributes to people that have had misfortune and need a push to get up on their feet and continue forward. The government is responsible for his program succeeding and it selects the people who could use it the most.
Not everything is unlimited so for this reason there are limitations to what the SNAP Program can do for people anyway. The snap program is only beneficiary to buy food they can be conserved at home it can be used later. For example, people can not just go buy any hot food or make food unless I can be refrigerated and stored for a future time. These people in the program would no be able to purchase any non-food item such as alcoholic beverages, tobacco, vitamins or medicine due to the fact that SNAP did not want their help to be wasted on something foolish. The SNAP Program also worked with giving families a budget every month to work with. The amount they got depended on the amount of people that stay in the household and how much money was being made and what was being used on expenses for that household. This would increase or decreases depending on the status on the family due to the fact the SNAP program is only there for a decent support on food for these people who need it the most.
People have very low budgets for a lot of things such as food or anything especially like people going to college. Today there are more financial challenges today than in the past that involve the cost of college and it being harder to pay for college when you have to work in college. Colleges are also giving less money to support the students in housing and food in general. These college students are becoming insecure the fact that they can't find the amount of money to buy sufficient amount of food for the time that you're spending at the college because they have to worry about the housing prices. This has resulted in people changing and leaving campuses for the fact that they can't afford all of the issues combine on a little salary.
This is what I have learned from doing this project for the symposium and even when doing the symposium then I learned how to present a more sophisticated area which helped me improve as a presenter I believe at least. This symposium event was very inviting and I first gave a lot of people anxiety but from what it seemed as presentations went on people got more comfortable in the spotlight we are bringing up their topics and showing after research which came off as good practice in general. I think SPC 2608 for putting me in a position to approve myself for presentations going forward.

You are an excellent presenter!
